As a non-religious and non-political organisation, CARE works with communities to help overcome poverty by supporting development projects and providing emergency relief. CARE Australia is seeking to appoint a Chief Executive who will:

· Lead the organisation as it pursues its vision of a world of hope, tolerance and social justice, where poverty has been overcome and people live in dignity and security;

· Be an accomplished strategic thinker who understands how to lead a non-governmental development organisation with complex and diverse responsibilities working within a global confederation;

· As a gifted communicator, bring a clear approach to the realization of CARE’s vision and ability to achieve it through engagement with all stakeholders; and

· Deliver on an ambitious growth strategy using the considerable talents and passion of CARE’s experienced staff.

The ideal candidate will possess outstanding leadership and strategic skills relevant to leading a complex international organisation, with a proven track record in implementing effective growth strategies.
